Who am I

Yaama, I'm Nikki.

I'm a proud Gomeroi and Galpu woman, artist and the heart behind Blakbird Designs, creating from Meeanjin (Brisbane) on Turrbal and Jagera Country.

What began in 2018 as a creative outlet has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. Blakbird Designs is now home to my artwork, jewellery, candles and pieces that invite people to slow down, connect and share in stories of Country.

Every collection starts with what speaks to me. Rather than chasing trends, I create pieces that reflect culture, community, healing and the everyday moments that shape us. Whether it's an artwork, a pair of earrings or a candle inspired by native scents, each piece is designed with intention and made to be cherished.

Outside of my little creative studio, I'm a work full time, wife, mum to two incredible kids and dog mum to our very spoiled Ruby. Life is busy, beautifully messy and fuelled by good coffee, community and far too many creative ideas.
